As compared to a traditional practice DPC practice does not bill your insurance company but works on monthly or yearly payment plan. DPC practice allows for more time interacting with patients and for follow ups. The recurring fee system allows the physician to overcome some of the pressures associated with traditional payment system. DPC gives your direct access to your physician via non traditional methods such as direct phone calls, texts and teleconference.
Concierge Medicine is usually associated with higher monthly costs and Concierge practice continues to bill your insurance company as well as associated with co-pays for visits. Direct primary care in contrast does NOT bill your insurance company and is associated with lower monthly costs.
