As compared to a traditional practice DPC practice does not bill your insurance company but works on monthly or yearly payment plan. DPC practice allows for more time interacting with patients and for follow ups. The recurring fee system allows the physician to overcome some of the pressures associated with traditional payment system. DPC gives your direct access to your physician via non traditional methods such as direct phone calls, texts and teleconference.
Concierge Medicine is usually associated with higher monthly costs and Concierge practice continues to bill your insurance company as well as associated with co-pays for visits. Direct primary care in contrast does NOT bill your insurance company and is associated with lower monthly costs.
Yes I accept all patient’s regardless of their insurance status
No I do not accept or bill your insurance. I still do recommend having insurance for labs, imaging, specialists and hospital visits
I will coordinate the referral in your insurance network and they will bill your insurance company.
No I do not, if you have chronic pain and are on opiate medications my practice may not be the right fit for you. I recommend seeing a pain specialist.
I do based on a case by case basis. I do not write opiates for chronic conditions
I will coordinate care with your hospitalist very closely. I have privileges at TMC but can coordinate care no matter which hospital you go to.
I still recommend you have health insurance for labs, imaging, specialist care, and if you need hospitalization.
Yes I am happy to accept all patient but monthly costs are not covered by Medicare/Medicaid. You will need to sign a waiver stating that neither you or I will bill Medicare/Medicaid for my services. You can still use Medicare/Medicaid for all other services including labs, imagine, specialists and hospitalization.
I will still be available over email, text, video chatting or for visits.
